  • Connect your Internet cable to the Ethernet port (this is optional if using LTE as the primary connection);
  • Install your modem using miniPCIe slot (optional);
  • Insert the SIM card into the SIM slot;
  • Connect the GPS antenna (see "GPS usage", optional);

  • Navigate to the network connections section on your computer and locate the wireless network named "MikroTik-....". Proceed to connect to it;

  • User name: admin, and there is no password (or, for some models, check user and wireless passwords on the sticker);
  • Update the device by clicking the (Check_for_updates) button to the latest RouterOS software for this to work the device needs to have an active Internet connection;
  • To manually update the device without public IP, go to our download page https://mikrotik.com/download;
  • Choose your architecture based on your device model under (System/Resources) and download the latest packages from a stable channel to your PC;
  • Open WinBox and upload packages in the (Files) menu;
  • Reboot the device;
  • Reconnect and navigate to the QuickSet menu to select your country, which will implement the relevant country regulation settings;
  • Secure your device and set a strong password;
  • The following RouterOS "npk" packages are required for the product's core functionality: gps, system.
