To enable use of BFD for BGP sessions, enable use-bfd for required entries in /routing bgp connection menu.
Note that BGP session can become established at first startup even if use-bfd is enabled and BFD session never gets established. In that case BGP established Useful feature is that BGP session will show that BFD session for that particular BGP session is down:
